House Of Rep. Speaker: CPDPL Roots For Chinda Of South-South

The President-elect, Alhaji Bola Ahmed Tinubu, House of Representative members-elect, and the National leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC), have been urged to zone the Speakership of the House of Representatives to the South-South zone of the country, and also support, Hon. Ogundu Kingsley Chinda, representing the good people of Obi-akpor federal constituency in Rivers state to become Speaker of the 10th House of Representatives.

Concerned PDP League (CPDPL), a support and advocacy group, made the call during an interview with Domestic Politics Reporter in Buguma city, the headquarter of the Asari-Toru local government area of Rivers state.

The leader, Comrade Daboikiabo Z. Warmate said, “We deemed it expedient to drum support for the South-South zone because it’s the only zone that has not produced a speaker of the federal house of representative since 1960. South-South traditionally or politically is a PDP zone but the Rivers State governor, Barr. Nyesom Wike was able to give the president-elect the highest vote in the South-South zone and the first time another party won the presidential election in the state.

“Hon O. K. Chinda is a ranking member with sterling legislative and leadership experience, trustworthy loyalty, humility, reliable and dependable with a great sense of commitment to duty and the Nigeria project, and is widely accepted amongst his colleagues, in fact, his emergence will give credence to President-elect Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s proposed government of national unity and greater legitimacy since he is a member of PDP. Hon. O. K. Chinda has held and is still holding several leadership positions at the green chamber.”

In a related development, Domestic Politics gathers in Abuja that, the Ambassadors of Patriotic Minds (APM) executive director of advocacy and media, Hajiya Khadijat A. Tajudeen, has advised the president-elect to ensure that a Christian from the North central to appease the Northern Christians and South-South to appease the Southern Christians, emerge as President of the Senate and Speaker of the House of Representative, respectively.

“This is for religious and political balancing, inclusivity, and dousing of any form of unforeseen tension since the president and vice president are Muslims and are from the South West and North East,” she said.

Tajudeen urged the president-elect to put into greater consideration the contribution of the governor of Rivers state, His Excellency, Chief, Barr. Nyesom N. Wike, when determining who becomes the speaker of the house of representative because, as an opposition governor and state, he delivered for him, what even many APC governors could not achieve for their party. So the speakership should not be a party thing.
