The Concerned PDP League, as the most active advocacy group defending and promoting the interests of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has once again reacted to the statement by of His Excellency, Distinguish Sen. Alhaji Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Chief David Umahi, and Ms. Moremi Ojudu, daughter of Babafemi Ojudu, the special adviser to President Muhammadu Buhari on political matters.
Former Lagos State Governor and the Governor of Ebonyi State, paid separate courtesy visits to President Buhari recently to intimate him on their interests to contest the 2023 Presidential election. However, speaking to the media after the meeting, Tinubu and Umahi said, “I want to build on Buhari regime’s legacy”. Meanwhile, Ms. Moremi Ojudu urged Nigerians to have mercy on the All Progressives Congress leadership and the deplorable state of the nation.
The above statements infuriated many Nigerians, prominent among them is the Concerned PDP League. The group’s reaction was contained in a press statement titled “We Don’t want to Die” issued yesterday in Abuja.
We Don’t Want TO Die
Life and breath are privileges given by God to mankind and neither APC nor Tinubu can sniff it of Nigerians with their economic hardship.
The former Lagos state governor has said he will run for president in 2023 to build on President Buhari’s regime’s legacy, after a visit to Mr. President to intimate him about his ambition.
It’s quite unfortunate that ambition will drive Tinubu to make such a horrendous statement. What legacy is Alhaji Tinubu even talking about?
Is it not the same Buhari’s regime that has been characterized by gross violation of human rights abuses, insecurity, economic hardship, etc?
Under President Buhari’s regime, Nigerians witnessed and have been witnessing the massacre of Shiite Muslim protesters in Zaria on 2015 with over 300 members of the Islamic group killed by Nigerian soldiers and buried in shallow graves. As we speak the North and some parts of the East are killing fields for innocent Nigerians.
Similarly in 2016, Amnesty International condemned President Buhari’s regime after soldiers killed over 150 unarmed Indigenous Peoples of Biafra. On October 20, 2020, security personnel fired shots on #EndSARS protesters, mostly youths demonstrating against police brutality and extortion.
The APC and President Buhari came into power with the change mantra and promised to combat insecurity during his campaign in 2015. Under his watch today, insecurity has taken a more dreadful trajectory with bandits, Boko Haram, Kidnappers, and unknown gunmen killing and kidnapping for ransom across the country with the clueless APC government watching helplessly.
Nigerian is the capital city of poverty in the world. What is the price of gas and other food items and building materials etc? Even In the ranking of the world’s worst police force, Nigeria is 168 out of 168 countries presently. What about debt? By the end of this year, Nigeria will be indebted to the tune of fifty trillion. This is also not to mention the taxpayer’s monies that is being used for medical tourism by the Buhari’s regime.
It’s our believe that, these are the legacies Alhaji Tinubu and chief David Umahi is talking about building on, et al. It’s unfortunate that, Tinubu and other APC Presidential Aspirants are be clouded by their ambitions from seeing the many failed promises of their party.
We just want to know, if it is these wickedness that Ms. Moremi Ojudu is asking us Nigerians to have mercy on the APC lead federal government or it’s something else? Though wecommend her honest view on Sunday during Channels TV’s ‘ Rubbin’ Minds programme but condemn her for asking us to allow APC come back to kill us.
We call on all those awards dashing institutions, media houses and associations to start getting ready to present to all surviving Nigerians a Certificate of Survival By June 1st, 2023, for their perseverance in surviving the Buhari led APC government.
