Onishasha of Shasha in Alimosho Local Government Area (LGA), Oba Babatunde Ogunrombi yesterday urged residents and political leaders to shun illegal appointment of leaders and land deals that could jeopardise the peace between Shasha and neighbouring communities.
The monarch gave the admonition while commemorating his ninth anniversary on the throne.
In a chat with journalists, Oba Ogunrombi appreciated God and stakeholders that stood by him in the last nine years, while pledging to keep striving for Shasha’s development.
He noted that he faced many challenges since he became king in 2012, but that he triumphed over them, adding that the challenges did not stop him from seeking the community’s progress.
He urged political leaders in Alimosho to respect the throne of Shashaland and that of neighbouring kingdoms so as to move the LGA forward.
While appreciating Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu for his efforts towards improving transportation in Shashaland, Ogunrombi urged the government to do more towards developing Shasha.
He advised politicians eyeing political office in 2023 at the federal, state and local level to remember that elections are not a do-or-die affair and to let peace reign.
