The National Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party has received rousing accolades and a vote of confidence passed on him by the Concerned PDP League.
Dr. Ayu, on Thursday, at the inauguration of the 37-member zoning committee in Abuja, said “the PDP will stick to its custom of rotating/zoning its political offices among the geopolitical zones in the country.”
The above statement by the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) national chairman, has incited excitement amongst thousands of members of the Concerned PDP League both across Nigeria and in Diaspora.
If you can recall, Concerned PDP League has been at the forefront of the call for the zoning of the presidency to the southern region, just as they did with the call for the removal of the immediate past NWC members. They insisted that there is zoning in PDP against leaders that are claiming there’s no zoning.
“Let me start by saying we are proud of and thank our courageous national chairman for vindicating us by speaking the simple truth and nothing but the truth that, zoning is an institutionalize tradition and practice in PDP and can’t be jettison just like that, the group leader said.”
Warmate said, “I have received several calls from our excited diaspora coordinators in Hamburg, Germany, and Birmingham, the United Kingdom expressing their solidarity with our position on zoning. They emphasised that those PDP leaders who are trying to hoodwink party members because of their narrow selfish interests and ambitions have been exposed”.
“We know God hates liars and betrayals, and we will pray to Him not to allow those who wanted to mislead us with lies, do not emerge as our great party candidate, God forbid they do but if they do, we will work against them and it will take only our national chairman that spoke the truth to stop us from mobilizing against them, otherwise, we will apply the Ghanaian skirt and blouse voting system”.
“We shall submit a memorandum, if need be, do a demo to drive home our point, why the presidency should be zone to the South-East or South-South zones in the south region, to the zoning committee”.
Warmate reiterated that “if not for anything but for this, our National Chairman deserves to be commended for his courageous statement and putting to shame those leaders who are trying to mislead PDP faithfuls and Nigerians that, there is nothing like zoning in PDP”.
Warmate urges the zoning committee members to be guided by their conscience and courage to speak the truth. What’s the point of summun bonum of gray hair on an elderly person’s hair when he or she can’t speak the truth.
