BREAKING: Appeal Court Rejects Suit Challenging Buhari’s Academic Qualification

Nigerian Court of Appeal in Abuja has rejected a suit challenging President Buhari’s academic qualification to stand for the 2019 presidential election.

A three-man panel upheld an earlier judgment by a Federal High Court in Abuja, dismissing the suit on the grounds that it was statute-barred.

The Court of Appeal held that the matters raised in the case have become statute barred. The Justices said the case was not filed within 14 days and the cause of action arose as stipulated under section 285(9) of the Nigerian Constitution.
