Over 1,000 people have died from coronavirus in Italy.
Europe’s virus epicentre also has 15,000 confirmed cases of the killer bug after the number of infected jumped by a quarter.
Today alone, 189 patients have died, bringing the country’s total to 1,016.
The country was put under an unprecedented lockdown earlier this week in a desperate bid to stop the virus’s spread.
