CPDPL Dares Ayu’s Led NWC’s Threat To Sanction Governor Wike And Face The Consequence

The Concerned PDP League (CPDPL) has condemned the alleged move by the National Working Committee (NWC) of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) led by its National Chairman, Senator Iyorchia Ayu, to sanction Governor Wike of Rivers State.

Recall that in the past few months, Gov. Wike has been at the forefront among those calling for the sack of the National Chairman of the party,  Sen. Ayu.

The CPDPL, in a statement by its Director of Media and Advocacy, Rashidat Abubakar, faulted Hon. Olugunagba’s statement to sanction Gov. Wike. Rashidat Abubakar emphasized that the PDP NWC as currently constituted does not have the moral right to question or query Gov. Wike with the sit-tight National Chairman.

The CPDPL reaction was informed by an interview granted by the party’s National Publicity Secretary (NPS), Hon. Debo Olugunagba, where he stated that the PDP would look into Wike’s recent activities and appropriately decide on what to do, noting that Hon. Olugunagba was responding to questions on the governor’s public endorsement of Gov. Babajide Sanwu-Olu of Lagos State when PDP also has a governorship candidate.

The group considered and described the statement of the NPS as a provocative threat that may divide the party more if not condemned. And that the person’s activities that need to be looked into are some PDP leaders, the National Chairman, and his cohorts.

The statement read: “Let’s call a spade a spade, the Ayu-led NWC lacks the moral right or standing to question or query Gov. Wike.”

“To start with letting the activities of leaders that betrayed and made us an opposition party in 2015, and sustained it in 2019, also the activities of those that are feeding fat for having never won any election for PDP in their state and the National Chairman, Sen. Ayu activities be looked into first before looking into Gov. Wike’s recent activities, since we are now talking about looking into leaders’ activities.”

“I want to warn that any unwarranted sanction against Gov. Wike will be totally rejected and resisted by the Concerned PDP League.”
“The person activities that must be looked into is Ayu and not gov. Wike that safe PDP from the political paralysis and comma it suffered in 2015 by giving oxygen to it which jacked it back to life”.

“Look at the British Prime Minister, Liz Truss resign after six weeks in office without dramas for just two reasons, the sharp division between two wings of her party, (the Conservative party), and her very unpopular economic policy, and she resigned for these reasons”.

“But Ayu who has been alleged to be very corrupt and has been accused of the followings;

1. Short-changing southern Nigeria by occupying a position that ought to go the South and refusing to resign.

2. N10 billion generated from the sales of forms depleting N1 billion.

3. N1 billion was collected in Lagos in the name of the party.

4. N100 million from a governor and NWC for the same project.

5. N12 million for the construction of four toilets with each at the cost of N4 million

6. Commercializing the PDP congresses and primary process for the highest bidder7. Leadership Incompetence, and many more we will hear as the campaign goes on, has shamelessly refused to resign.”

“My call, therefore, is that Ayu and his cohorts should drop this unpopular plan and idea to sanction Gov. Wike Not only that, he must go for the south to produce the National Chairman for PDP to attract the southern vote for the presidential election.”

“That’s why political sharks come to the party and take everything at the expense of legacy members. The former Sokoto state deputy governor and minister, Alhaji Mukthar Shehu Shagari left PDP for its poor reward system to faithful party members.”

“We stand with the Gov. Wike group because it is our policy to defend and protect those that have to weep away shame from the face of our great party in time of its need.”

“Let me use this opportunity to congratulate Gov. Wike on his well-deserved recognition and award of excellence in Infrastructure by President Muhammadu Buhari GCFR and I advise him not to any longer welcome PDP leaders who are coming to beg him and his group without first going to talk to Ayu to resign because it is now looking like a child’s play and an insult on the intelligence of all aggrieved members and leaders and also give them a final died line.”

“I want to finally reiterate that, on this course, CPDPL is 100% with Gov. Wike & his group. Ayu Must Go and the South Must Produce the National Chairman now not after the general election.”
