The Duke of Sussex has landed in the UK to join the Royal Family as they mourn the death of Prince Philip and prepare for his funeral on Saturday, April 17. It follows his death on Friday
The Duke of Sussex made the solo journey from his California home without Meghan Markle and will be following Covid-19 protocols for the trip, as well as during his visit.
The Duchess of Sussex has been told by a doctor she cannot travel as she is carrying their second child.
Harry is set to reunite with older brother Prince William to walk behind Philip’s coffin at his funeral, a source had claimed this week.
This is the first time Harry is back in the country since stepping down as a senior royal just over a year ago, and jetting off to Canada before settling on America’s west coast.
It is also the first time he has been in the UK since his sensational interview with Oprah Winfrey, when he lifted the lid on rifts at the heart of the royal family.
The funeral will take place on April 17 in St George’s Chapel, Windsor Castle, and a national minute’s silence will be observed as it begins at 3pm.
Harry could be excused from England’s coronavirus quarantine rules due to his status.
He had originally planned for his first trip back to the UK for what would have been Princess Diana’s 60th birthday on July 1.

The death of their grandfather on Friday morning however has brought them together far earlier than expected.
The duke’s coffin will be transported from the castle to the chapel in a specially modified Land Rover he helped to design, and followed by the Prince of Wales and senior royals on foot, a senior Palace official said.
The Mirror claims sources close to Prince Charles said he was “very happy” his sons will be together following a testing few months, and will walk behind the coffin.
It is understood that Meghan had made every effort to join her husband but was not given clearance to travel by her doctor.
The Duke and Duchess posted a tribute to Philip on the website of their foundation Archewell on Friday.
It reads simply: “In loving memory of His Royal Highness The Duke of Edinburgh 1921-2021.
“Thank you for your service… You will be greatly missed.”
It was posted against a sombre brown background.
