A Knife-wielding man planning to “assassinate” Donald Trump was stopped outside the White House.
Roger Hedgpeth, 25, was arrested after making threats outside the White House on Saturday afternoon.
Hedgpeth told a US Secret Service officer that he was there to “assassinate” President Donald Trump, according to a police report.
He also said: “I have a knife to do it with.”
The Metropolitan Police Department found a 3 1/2-inch knife in a case on his left hip and an empty pistol holster on his right hip.
Officers took Hedgpeth into custody and to a hospital for a mental evaluation.
Hedgpeth’s vehicle was also impounded.
