BREAKING: 2023 Election – Undue Interference May Lead To PDP Failure, Says CPDPL

The very critical and voracious group in the PDP, the Concerned PDP League (CPDPL), has vehemently condemned the choking interference of some party leaders with the work of the National Working Committee (NWC) to the detriment of the party.

Yesterday the Wadata plaza, the building housing the national headquarters of the Peoples  Democratic Party (PDP) at zone 5, was thrown into a serious state of sadness and anger when the overbearing interference trickled down to staff level.

The director, Media, and Advocacy of the group who personally witnessed the sorrowful mood of some of the staff at the secretariat expressed fears that, at this rate of barbaric interference, the chances of the party at the forthcoming general election may be very slim.

The Concerned PDP League (CPDPL) group issued a brief statement titled; IT’S too early for scandals, members to oversight leaders and  signed by the leader, Comrade D. Z. Warmate, secretary, Tasiu Muhammed and director Media and Advocacy, Rashidat N. Abubakar, which reads in part:

We are saddened and worried by the inordinate and choking interference of some party leaders with the day-to-day runnings of the party.
This is coming on the heels of the inglorious attempt to unceremoniously remove one of the most active, efficient, accessible, and approachable PDP staff, the deputy director, directorate of mobilization and organization, Mr. Adeyemi A. Mayogun.

Also on Monday 7th of March, 2023, the Edo state deputy governor, Hon. Philip Shaibu, on a live Channels TV programme, accused the National Working Committee (NWC) of lacking the fiat conscience and courage to take the decision on the harmonized list for the new PDP and old PDP members and threatened to leave the party since it seems they are no longer welcome in PDP.

In the same vein, Mr. Akin Ogunbiyi who withdraw from the Osun state PDP governorship primary directly pointed accusing fingers at the National Chairman Sen. Dr.  Iyorchia Ayu of siding with the ‘dancing senator’, Sen. Ademola Adeleke.

At this time that we are preparing for a very crucial 2023 general election, we do not need such scandals and also experimental hands in the directorate of mobilization and organization but rather, an experienced hand and as surcharge those behind the orchestrated plan to remove Mr. A. A. Mayogun to desist from continuing with it.

We, therefore, condemned the undue and unholy interference that may lead to PDP losing the 2023 election if due care is not taken. We call on the NWC not to allow themselves to be used to service individual interest at the expense of the greater interest of the party and without further delay, address all the issues raised that have been raised.

Finally, the NWC must ensure that its tenure is scandal-free. And Nigerians at home and in the diaspora are watching, we are watching too.
