The overseer of Citadel Global Community Church, formerly known as Latter Rain Assembly, Pastor Tunde Bakare, on Sunday commended how Nigerians from different walks of life came out for the #EndSARS protest to reject “harassment, humiliation, and the coldblooded murder of their fellow citizens”.
He also stressed the need to work towards a more holistic and fundamental reconception of the security architecture on the journey to national rebirth.
Pastor Bakare who spoke at the church auditorium in Oregun, Lagos also said that it was impossible to police a people without their cooperation while their cooperation cannot be obtained for a tactical unit they no longer trust.
According to him, it was evident that SARS was created with noble anti-robbery intentions, “the grave irony of SARS is that it has become a grotesque embodiment of the problem it was created to solve and the tail is now wagging the dog.”
He warned Nigeria’s leaders who are dispossessing the citizens of their rights to desist from doing so or face the God’s judgment.
